My name is Cindy and I got your link from the Arlington Heights Vegetarian Meet up Group - However I have never attended a meet up there as of yet. I'm still not sure what the vegetarian meet up is all about other than cooking vegetarian/vegan for health which is fine but I was hoping to meet people who understand the total extent of cruelty to animals in argibusiness.
In addition to eating healthy I am interested in activism and bringing awareness of the cruelty to animals who have to live and die every day in factory farms, medical labs, and the entertainment industries. Yes health is important but I really wasn't hearing anything about animal cruelty through the any of the comments from anyone at vegetarian meet up, but you spoke to me when you said no leather, silk, fur or wool, etc... I would be interested to know if any of thoes topics came up at the meeting or is it all about diet?
I live in Fox River Grove and am interested in meeting fellow vegans who live in McHenry County and Southern Wisconsin Counties.
Are you involved in any groups around McHenry County or Southern Wisconsin that relate to Veganism?
I would love to get a tour of Reverence Gardens sometime. Do you have any fruit or any thing else available still? I know it's late in the year. If not I certainly would love a tour of your farm in the spring when planting starts.
I try to buy local when available. It's sad we can't even buy fruit or vegetables from the store anymore without having to worry if it's been Genetically Modified. What a twisted society we live in.
I host a website that consists of links to organizations who help people, animals and the planet. I am going to be adding a page for local farmers across the country where people can find fresh non-gmo fruit and vegetables. I will working on that over the winter and can add Reverence Gardens to that list if you like.
